Mr. Douglas Lloyd, an Advisory Director, has extensive industry expertise and an unrivalled network in the Clean Technologies & Renewable Energy and Security (IT & Homeland) & Defense sectors.  As the Founder and CEO of VB/Research (www.vbresearch.com), Mr. Lloyd provides proprietary deal and transaction intelligence, data and bespoke research to companies (public and private), investors, investment banks, law firms, government departments and consultants worldwide. 

Prior to founding VB/Research, Mr. Lloyd worked in corporate finance and private equity/venture capital for 12 years in London, Paris and New York.

He began his career at HSBC Investment Bank (London and Manchester) and was then recruited to Close Brothers Corporate Finance (London and Paris).

Most recently, he was Head of European Investment Banking at WR Hambrecht + Co. in New York. During his banking career, Mr. Lloyd closed over 40 transactions with an aggregate transaction value in excess of £3 billion.

Mr. Lloyd has extensive experience working with dynamic private and public companies as an advisor raising equity capital, providing strategic advice and working on buyside and sellside mandates. At Close Brothers, he was also the fund manager for the highly successful First Close Technology Fund, which invested in companies including Active Hotels and Bango.
