Mr. Steven Brittan, a partner at EpiGroup, is a consultant to companies in the defence, security, transport, communications and energy sectors.

Previously, Mr. Brittan was a Managing Director at QinetiQ Group for the majority of the past decade.  While at QinetiQ, he primarily led technology businesses through all phases of development from research and concepts, through demonstration to productization and exploitation.

Among Mr. Brittan’s areas of domain expertise are: sensor technologies, including electronic warfare, radar, and electro optic sensors; UAV systems; C4ISR; and network systems, communications and electronic security.  During his tenure at QinetiQ, he built significant partnerships with major global corporations, to establish the company’s footprint outside the UK following its privatization in 2001.  These partner entities included Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, General Dynamics, L-3, Boeing, Textron and BAE Systems.  Mr. Brittan has frequently led multi-discpilinary teams to success in bidding for programs from the US and UK Governments, and successfully completed technology transfer programs from the UK to the US.

Mr. Brittan has a track record of delivering growth while employing a variety of business models, including licensing, products development and service enhancement.  He has had significant exposure to all facets of strategy and M&A activity, and substantial expertise in creating options to realise value from new technologies. 

Mr. Brittan, a previous winner of a “Wall Street Journal” Award for Innovation, was educated at Portsmouth, where he earned a bachelors in engineering (1st Class).  Additionally, he attended Henley’s Advanced Management Programme.
