Mr. John Bailey has over 25 years experience as an investment banker, merchant banker, private equity partner and financial executive of public and private companies.  He has over 12 years experience in investment banking, advising on over 100 transactions.  As a merchant banker, he has acquired, developed, managed, financed and sold numerous enterprises across multiple sectors.

Prior to Horizon MC Group, Mr. Bailey founded Berkshire Partners and operated as its principal, providing highly personalized merchant banking and consulting services to clients in the energy, media, and broadcast sectors.  During this period, he restructured a small oil and gas E&P company, served as interim CFO for an LBO, architected five financings to support growth, and consummated eight acquisitions.  Previously, he was CFO of Heartland Wireless Communications, a regional wireless cable roll-up, where he effected over 30 acquisition transactions, raised approximately $1.2 billion in financing and led that company's IPO.

Mr. Bailey’s investment banking career was shaped during a decade spent working with national firms such as Bear, Stearns & Co. and Kidder, Peabody & Co, as well as regional firms including Eppler, Guerrin & Turner and Rauscher Pierce Refsnes.  Transactional experience included primary responsibility for 17 IPOs, 38 other public offerings, 21 private placements and 23 M&A transactions.  Throughout his career, Mr. Bailey focused on the Midwestern,  Southwestern and Southeastern regions of the US market.  Clients during that time included Comstock Resources, Tom Brown, Inc., Houston Oil & Minerals, Southern Union, Independence Health Plan, Germany Oil Company, Goodrich Oil Company, SR Superstores, Thor Energy Resources, United Medicorp, HazTec, and others.

Mr. Bailey resides in Texas, serves on various private company boards, and is an avid golfer.
